Chimerix is the owner or exclusive licensee of approximately 21 issued patents covering lipid conjugation prodrug discovery and development. The Company's intellectual property estate contributes tremendously to Chimerix as it protects 1) technology and biological insights, 2) lipid prodrug research and drugs, and 3) the investment the Company and its shareholders have made in pioneering and developing its technologies.  Chimerix continues to refine the ProLipTagTM technology and file new invention disclosures.

Chimerix has also exclusive licensed 21 US patents covering the chemical library from the University of Michigan
